A side-by-side breakdown of the reasons the Vertical Grooves Floating Record costs more than our leading competitor, Fuse Audio GLD:

Wood Cabinets

 Floating Record

Real walnut wood veneer “AAAA”

FUSE Audio GLD

Vinyl wood grain print

Our cabinets are made of real wood “AAAA” grade Walnut veneer and interiors with premium grade MDF. Wood consoles grains with beautiful flaming, bird-eye knotting, quilting, etc.
Cabinet veneers are book-matched on the ends for a continuous wood grain. Each cabinet highlights the uniqueness of the tree it was made from
Handcrafted with Danish oil and beeswax in Illinois by trade cabinetmakers.
USA-sourced wood to reduce our carbon footprint. Trees are sustainably grown.
Our competitors use either vinyl wood-grain prints, paint, or inked wood.
If wood veneer is used, it’s the thinnest and lowest grade available. Imperfections are covered in paint and/or tinted heavy polyurethane clear coat.
No book matching on cabinet ends.

Platters

Floating Record

High Mass Acrylic Platter

FUSE Audio GLD

Low-Coat Plastic

Acrylic is heavy (A good thing) and low in resonance (also good). A high Mass Acrylic Platter, usually a $150+ upgrade on good turntables, is included on ours.
Hi mass platters act as a flywheel and are less prone to wow and flutter (changes in RPM) while also helping to isolate small vibrations and noise from getting transferred to the record, and in turn, through the Stylus and amplified through the speakers.
All of our Acrylic is USA sourced and machined.
Lightweight and resonant. Lightweight Plastic platters do nothing to help stabilize rpm, either do lightweight MDF platters. Plastic is also resonant and allows vibration and noise to transfer to the record and get picked up by the stylus and amplified.

•Circuit boards are 100% custom made to our exacting specifications, with the highest quality capacitors, resistors, diodes and op-amps available. Quality and performance is the priority.
Our boards have 5 discrete circuits partitioned by motes. Power supply, Preamplifier, Power amplifier, RIAA Phono stage, and motor control circuit.
Our circuit boards are typically 5X to 7X larger that our competitors, and up to 3X thick as well.
The farther each circuit is from another, the less chance there is for cross talk interference. We do not want our phono stage to be picking up any noise from our power supply circuit or motor control circuit. Our circuit board motes help with this as well.
Board thickness helps with stiffness and long term  durability.
Hand wired controls and speakers.
Our circuit boards are designed and manufactured in Illinois.
Multiple applications. Low cost priority.
Electrical components are smaller and lighter duty.
Integrated circuit chips are used to perform multiple functions in a small economical package.
Very thin boards keep costs down.
Low-cost  ribbon cables to connect controls.
Sourced globally.
